A Proud Month

This has been quite a month for me and my family.

My son graduated in the top 10 percent of his class, having completed his MBA while working full time.

Matt Stinson

My daughter danced up a storm at a recent performance put on by the school where she’s been having a great time mastering the art of Latin dance.

My dad has weathered with courage the early weeks following the death of his closest friend, after a wonderful 20-year relationship blessed with much laughter and joy.

Doug Powell

My husband read all 89 manuscripts submitted by Ghanaian writers in preparation for his role on an award jury, in addition to fulfilling his duties as editor for Red Deer Press and facilitator of an writing workshop for George Brown College. And he cut the grass before heading off to Ghana, too. 🙂

Peter Carver

As for me? I finished nailing down final text for a non-fiction picture book coming out this fall and I’m within pages of completing a draft of my long-time-in-progress novel. (Parts of my garden aren’t in bad shape either.)

    Kathy,
A year to remember with talents and achievements focused both near and far. It takes a whole family and community to accomplish so much! Congratulations to all.

p.s. I note a certain 4-legged family member is not highlighted this time around but I assume she too is meeting her usual high standards of performance!

Thanks Ingrid. And very astute of you to notice Keisha's absence. Her latest achievement – she has learned to put her toy(s) in their basket before going out for her final bedtime pee. I think my kids will be glad I didn't rank this up there with their accomplishments!
