Season’s Greetings

Christmas 1945 by Humphrey Carver

Like many, my partner and I send out fewer cards than we used to. We may not have sent any last year. We are sending out a handful this year, but I wanted to share our card with all who read my blog as subscribers or as occasional visitors. The message inside reads:

As 2020 draws to a close

we hope this creation by Humphrey Carver

will remind you that others have endured.

Wishing you strength, resilience,

and hope in the season and year ahead.

Thanks, Janet. It’s a tough one for so many. I think Humphrey would have liked having his image used in this way.

    Hello Kathy and Peter,

Thank you for your greetings, with design by Humphrey. It has been quite a year. I hope you have a relaxing holiday with feet up, preferred beverage at hand to celebrate the season.

Stay well. All the best for 2021!

I just spotted this. Members of the community of Rockcliffe Park in Ottawa are in the process of advancing the conservation of the Centennial Gardens designed by Humphrey Carver with Don W. Graham Landscape Architects. Gerry Lajeunesse and I are helping out. I just spotted this as I was looking through Humphrey Carver related material / information. It is wonderful and I really appreciate your posting it. Cordially. Linda Dicaire

That’s wonderful, Linda, that work is being done to conserve the Centennial Gardens. Thanks for letting me know, and wouldn’t Humphrey and Don be pleased! I must say I’m also pleased that my little blog post turned up in your search for Humphrey related material. I think it means my assistant with all things virtual is doing a good job. 🙂
