One Voice In A Grand Choir

Trying to recall the exact words on a poster I saw in a school library some years ago, I did an internet search and discovered this:bird

Use the talents you possess,

for the woods would be very silent

if no birds sang except the best.

— Henry Van Dyke

The words on the poster may not have been Van Dyke’s precisely, but close enough. Many times over the years, the message in these words has kept me writing.
