A House with No Windows, No Mirrors

girl at the windowImagine living in a house that had no windows and no mirrors. That’s what a house without books would be like. Books open windows onto worlds unlike our own and thereby create empathy for those living lives different from what we know. And by reflecting back to us our own experience of the world, books validate our existence; they tell us we matter.

Bravo, First Book, for providing kids with these all-important mirrors and windows!

Check out First Book and see the ways you can help give kids in need the thrill and benefits of owning their own books.
