Congratulations to my Online Profile Developer!
Because my sister is clever in so many ways I’m not, I have an attractive, helpful, well-maintained website and blog, and have had a presence on Facebook and other social media networks for some time. This month, thanks to Janet, my online presence has been further updated.
KathyStinson.com became “mobile-friendly” so it’s much easier to read its 100+ pages in your hand now.
And with Janet’s help, I’m now on Twitter.
Janet recently used me as a case study in Online Profile Development. She described how she developed my current website, capitalizing on the popularity of Red is Best by using red headings. She told her reason for using a jigsaw puzzle in the background. She mentioned that RSS and email subscriptions are offered and the easily accessible commenting and social sharing features.
She also drew attention to the personalized, top-of-the-page image on Facebook that’s designed to display properly despite frequent changes to the Facebook platform, and to the cleverly named and strategically organized pins on Pinterest. (Check it out for its nice blend of my personal interests and my work.)
Because I also have a presence on Goodreads, configured to syndicate my blog posts, Janet included a widget on my site to inform visitors of what I’ve been reading lately.
The good news about all this? Her case study earned her recognition as “best Canadian online profile developer” — please join me in congratulating her on this award!
And while you’re at it, don’t forget to follow me (if you don’t already) on Twitter, Pinterest, and Facebook (where more changes will be coming soon).
