Do you love tulips?
May 13, 2020 /
I do. I also love photography and playing with filters. Early this spring, impatient for tulip season, I found a photo from a year previous and played.

Great pics.
While we are on tulips – had approx 100 to start with – squirrels and bunnies nailed approx 70%
Sadly, we’ve lost a lot of ours that way too. Last fall we planted lots of daffodils. I don’t love them quite as much as tulips, but it seems the squirrels and rabbits don’t either! 🙂
I agree with your daffodil reasoning
But they come earlier than most tulips and are spent during the tulip season
You’re right. Daffodils do come earlier. Not as early up here and there’s overlap with some tulips before the daffodils disappear. Still, it would be nice if squirrels and rabbits could develop more of a taste for invasive weeds instead and leave our tulips alone!
I do love tulips, so I was excited to learn that the Tulip Festival is being held online this year – not the same as being there, but since I wouldn’t have been going to Ottawa anyway, it’s a step up! They’re supposed to be posting a virtual tour soon at https://tulipfestival.ca/.
Thank you for including that link, Janet. I’m sure my tulip-loving readers will appreciate it — as do I!
Oh good! I didn’t mean to take away from YOUR beautiful tulips! <3
Not at all! Can there ever be *too many* tulips? 🙂
In that case, I’ll add this link which Peter sent me a couple of weeks ago: https://www.boredpanda.com/tulip-garden-keukenhof-photography-albert-dros/
Now that’s a lot of tulips! Gorgeous! Thanks for passing this along!
Absolutely exquisite!
Thank you, Wendy. 🙂
Nice!. I do love tulips
Thanks, Janice. I know you follow me on Instagram. I’ll try to post a photo of this year’s tulips while they’re still in bloom — if I can get one that begins to do them justice!
I don’t seem to have any tulips here…….too many squirrels.
I went to Holland one year when I was in the tulip-painting mode (which I was for years!), to see the Keukenhoff Gardens. I was in heaven! Glorious.
It seems there will be fewer tulips and more squirrels than usual here too this year. I imagine the sight of those gardens would stick in your brain forever! I hope I get to see some of your tulip paintings some day.
Ahh, I have no tulip paintings left.
I can clearly remember my time at the Keukenhoff. Yes, stuck forever in my brain!
Too bad for me. We’ll have to come up with another excuse to get together, when we can do so again safely. 🙂
I look forward to it.
I’m starting to dream of walking Hue in the Cons early in the morning watching the mist rise off the lake and hearing the geese squawk away.
Seems like it happened in a land far far away.
xo
My dog is a little too fond of goose poop for me to share your dreams of squawking geese. But yes it will be nice to get back in the Cons. 😊
hahahaha! Absolutely hilarious.
