Activities

For teachers --

Have students create life-size paintings of themselves doing things that make them feel big and smaller than life-size paintings of things that make them feel little. Cut out the figures to create a 'BIG OR LITTLE' mural.

For kids --

Imagine you are 12, or 25, or 80. Write down three things you think would make you feel big, and three things you think would make you feel little, at that age -- or any other age you feel like writing about.

Reviews

The joy of Big or Little? is how simply it is told and how accurately its text and illustrations depict a pre-schooler’s world….a must-have classic for any library.

The author and illustrator capture that uncomfortable in-between feeling… Plenty of children will relate.

School Library Journal, August 2009

… has maintained the theme to which so many preschoolers (or teens or adults) can relate: those moments in life when they feel “big”or grownup and those times when circumstances make them feel “little” or babyish… This board book version of Big or Little? is a definite must-buy for the toddler crowd, and it’s also a most worthy purchase for those libraries that already own one or both of the earlier versions.
